I have included all DOVASTONs and Variations with their ancestors and descendants, where known - hence the inclusion of many other Surnames. There are many females where I have so far been unable to establish whether their Surname is by birth or marriage. These are listed as [DOVASTON,*] and can be found at the beginning of the Surname List or under < in the Index of Names
I am sure I have made many errors - and I know there are many omissions.

I am also always eager to receive photos but do not add those of people still living unless specifically requested to do so by the person concerned.

The name can appear with a variety of spellings in official documents. So far I have found 38!

Most of this information is available via the Internet or from Local History Societies and is therefore in the public domain. But I would not have been able to make many of the links between the families without the help of those who replied to my letters and emails or left messages in my Guest Book. Please see below.

But my most valuable resource is a copy of a huge Family Tree in the possession of the New Zealand Dovastons who originally lived at The Nursery in West Felton. Without that I would never have been able to link in my line.
